With summer finally underway it's time to get out and start embracing all the city has to offer. Number one on the list has to be London's vibrant food scene and there's no better place to find out what's trending than to hit it's street food scene. From Borough to Brixton, here's where to go...

Borough Market

London's oldest market, it's been running for over 1,000 years. Part of its charm is the fact that many of the stallholders are also the producers. So you'll find cheese from the cheesemonger who matured it, the beef farmer who has reared the cattle and the baker who's been up all night kneading dough. If you're looking for experts, this is the place to go. Alongside, endless stalls of fresh produce you'll find a variety of street food stalls from buritos to beers plus there are plenty of restaurants too. Must try? The tacos at El Pastor under the arches. 

Street Feast

From Model Market to Dinerama, Hawker House and Giant Robot, when it comes to street food and night markets, Street Feast is seriously vibey. All neon signage and clever slogans it's all totally Instagrammable. Plus with each trader carefully selected you're guaranteed only the best street food going. Don't miss the fried chicken from Thunderbird, seafood from Prawnography and ice-cream from Chin Chin Labs

Broadway Market

If you're looking for the best examples of East London hipsters this is where you'll find them. On Saturdays you'll spot them sipping craft beers, sulphite free wines or cold brew coffees. Come lunch time it's all about the haggis cheese toasties from Deeneys,  pork bao buns from the Dumpling Shack and crab cake burgers from Fin & Flounder. 

Netil Market

Just off the top of Broadway Market you'll find this. Slightly more chilled, there's a host of regular traders and rotating weekly stalls  spanning food, drinks, clothing, art and vintage homeware. Try the Afro tacos from LemLem Kitchen or the legendary buttermilk fried chicken from BAO, whilst browsing glasses from The Worshipful Little Shop Of Spectacles and jewellery from WeAreArrow. 

KERB

With markets at King's Cross, West India Quay, the Gherkin, Paddington, London Bridge City and Camden, when it comes to streetfood, KERB take it very seriously. Take their location in Camden market. With 34 stalls and open 7 days a week, you've got no excuse for lunch al desko again. 

Pop Brixton

Turning a patch of disused land into a buzzing and vibrant hub for local independent food traders, Pop Brixton has quickly become one of South London's hottest hangouts. Work your way around the different shipping containers, each with a different food outlet. We love Mama's Jerk and Ghana Kitchen. There's also regular events like wine tasting and DJ sets. 

Chatsworth Road

If you're looking for a market with an authentic feel rather than anything too try-hard, this is the place. Originally founded in the 1930s, it was revived by local residents in 2011. Every Sunday, the pavements on both sides of the street are transformed into an array of stalls with everything from doughnuts to flowers. For serious summer vibes try a Greek souvalki wrap from Souvlaki Street and some freshly squeezed cane juice from Cane Garden Juice.
