Whether for a work trip or a romantic weekend away, this Parisian boutique hotel ticks all the boxes...

The vibe.. Originally built in 1926, don’t let its twenties façade give you the impression that this hotel is going to be in anyway old-school or stuffy. Instead, step inside and you’ll find warm and friendly staff and an extremely chic boutique hotel, that was completely refurbished in 2017. The reception area sets the tone with its art deco mirrors, twisted shelves, plenty of fresh flowers and a veteran cage lift – fusing the old with the new, and feeling contemporary without losing any of the cosy.

The rooms…With just 50 rooms including five suites, the Hotel Montalembert has all the personal touches of a boutique hotel. With a retro colour palette of navy, teal, yellows and oranges, you'll instantly feel relaxed. The luxe vibe is upped with lots of sleek wood and roomy marbled bathrooms. Rooms which have huge windows allowing in lots of natural light are also well equipped with TVs, docking stations, coffee machines and plenty of wardrobe space. There is also a writing desk with a comfy chair – ideal if you’re there travelling for work. Bathrooms come well stocked with beauty products whilst you’ll also find cosy robes and comfy slippers. Suites feature mini balconies and some even have views of the Eiffel Tower from the bathtub. Dreamy!

What’s the food like…

Seriously comfy beds make breakfast-in-bed even more tempting. Order fresh croissants and fluffy scrambled eggs, and ease into your day over the morning’s newspapers. Otherwise, roll downstairs to fresh juice shots and poached eggs with smoked salmon. Come evening time, Chef David Maroleau serves up dishes with an Asian influence. Must-haves include Tiger shrimp tartar in a lemongrass broth and the black truffle linguine. And you have to try the peanut millefeuille for a totally wow dessert moment.

What about an after-dinner cocktail?

The library with its open fireplace and deep velvet armchairs is ideal for kicking back in with a large glass of red. It’s also the perfect hideaway on rainy days with afternoon tea and a good book.

What’s the neighbourhood like?

Located in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés on the Left Bank, you’re a short stroll away from from the Orsay and the Louvre Museums. There’s also plenty of art galleries and antique shops for when you just want to wander alongside lots of chic design stores and luxury fashion boutiques. Plus, plenty of boulangeries to refuel at.

How do I book?

Hotel Montalembert is a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts LVX Collection. Rooms start from approx £274. Click here to book
