Whilst, Hollywood may have stepped away from the traditional red carpet with many stars opting to wear black in a show of solidarity with the #MeToo movement, when it came to jewellery they didn't hold back.

Without the usual parade of colourful peacocking gowns, many celebrities opted to complement the more serious dress code with an array of statement jewellery pieces, from earrings to necklaces they didn't hold back,

Alison William's opted for a diamond choker from Forevermark featuring five-rows of 43.15 carats of white diamonds whilst Alison Brie chose a necklace from Bulgari's  “Le Magnifiche” collection which feature approximately 80 carats of round brilliant-cut diamonds set in 18-karat white gold.

Zoe Kravitz proved our earring obsession is showing no signs of slowing down, accessorising her Saint Laurent gown with a pair of huge emerald earrings from Lorraine Schwartz. Catherine Zeta-Jomes and Insecure’s Issa Rae also opted for emerald looks from the American jewllery designer too.

But it was Viola Davis that really caught our attention with her dazzling diamond necklace. Designed by Harry Winston, the 'Secret Combination' necklace features 111.48 carats set in platinum retailing from approx $1.1 million. Upping the KiraKira appeal  the actress also opted for a pair of round brilliant 8 carat diamond ear studs, that retail for approx $1.17 million alongside a 'Traffic' 1.49 carat diamond ring also from Harry Winston.

Proof that diamonds are always a girl's best friend.
